We offer moist spent grain mix sourced from local brewers and distillers consisting of at least 50-80% barley and could also contain some oats, wheat, rye or corn for bovines, pigs and poultry. * See out Nutritional Values webpage

We provide Brewers Spent Grains by the 55 gallon drum (about 300 lbs. of BSG), 275 Gallon IBC Container which require a fork lift at your location to remove from our trailer (holds about 1,700 lbs. of BSG) and also by dump trailer load ranging from 4,000-7,000 lbs. of BSG. 

This grain mix is suitable for cattle including goats, sheep, cattle and other bovines as well as pigs and chickens. The grain mix is of a rolled texture, not dry but slightly damp which is preferred by these animals. * See out Nutritional Values webpage

AgroCycle does not inventory BSG so it is picked up fresh from local breweries and delivered to you within 24 hours. Being slightly damp, the grain mix should be stored in an area without direct sunlight in the summer and we recommend using the grain to feed livestock within a weeks time. We always advise to use your eyes, nose and practical sense when examining the grain if stored over a week to make sure it is suitable for your particular livestock. 

No,  spent grain is removed from the brewing process before the yeast is added to the wort liquid to make beer. Spent grain is basically boiled grains that are low carb, high fiber, high proteins plus other nutrients moistened in water. Given enough time and the correct conditions however, moist grains and fruit will begin to ferment. So use it up weekly!

55 Gallon Drums:

55 Gallon Drum filled with fresh moist spent grain is $40. We supply the drum with secure lid and when empty we will come out with full drums and pick up the empties.

Dump Trailer Load of Spent Grain (approximately 6,000 pounds of grain):

A dump trailer load of fresh spent grain with our 8' x 12' x 2' trailer holds about 1,100 gallons worth of moist grain which is equivalent to the volume of (20) 55 Gallon drums. 

The dump trailer load cost is effectively discounted to $30 per drum (a 25% discount) bringing the total cost for a dump trailer load to $600 (20 x $30). 

If you can take more than one grain dump load per week, we further discount the price to $25 per 55 gallon volume which is $500 per load (20 x $25). 

* There is no delivery charge for dump trailer loads if delivery is within a 50 mile radius of  City of San Diego or City of Temecula in Riverside County. Call for delivery quote if further.
